Ron Goodman, Labor candidate for Tweed
I was extremely proud to be Labor’s candidate for Tweed at the March 28 state election and I’d like to thank the thousands of locals who voted for me.
The election results across the North Coast, including in our very own seat of Tweed, show that more than 50 per cent of residents resoundingly rejected the Nationals and actually voted for non-Nationals candidates.
MP Geoff Provest survived a massive 18.5 per cent swing against him and only scraped back in because of preferences exhaustion.
The 2015 state election is over but I will continue to be active in our community and will be holding Mr Provest and his government to account.
I thank everyone I met during the campaign and wish success to all of them for the future.
