The Australian lawyer representing Andrew Chan and and Myuran Sukumaran says the latest developments in Indonesia are ominous for his clients.

Embassies representing prisoners on death row with the Bali Nine pair have been summoned to a meeting at Cilicap near the island of Nusakambangan where prisoners are held before their execution by firing squad.

‘It’s worrying and it’s ominous,’ lawyer Peter Morrissey told Nine Network on Friday.

‘We are on alert for sure.’

Mr Morrissey said another lawyer, Julian McMahon, was flying to Indonesia on Friday.

‘We will keeping our (legal) efforts going. We will keep going right up until they pull the trigger quite frankly,’ he said.

‘It’s never over until it is over, but it is worrying for sure.’

Chan and Sukumaran were transferred from Bali’s Kerobokan Prison in March.
