A memorial service will be held today for champion sky diving instructor Michael Vaughan, who died alongside another diver near Byron Bay in March.

Mr Vaughan and Alana Clarke were killed after they became entangled during a mid air manoeuver on March 28.

Ms Clarke died at the scene and Mr Vaughan died after undergoing multiple surgeries.

A memorial will be held at the Novotel Sydney in Brighton Le Sands on Tuesday afternoon, before Mr Vaughan is cremated in a private ceremony in Brisbane later this week.

Ms Clarke was farewelled in Chinderah, on the north coast, on April 7.
