All the way from Tamworth, Lilly Webster has been coming to the show her entire life. Lilly first sat on a horse almost six years ago when she was just three months old and along with mum Shelley, they make the yearly trip east to Lismore for this very popular show.

The event is the Northern NSW Show Horse Association Official Show Horse Council of Australasia Inc.’s Qualifier for 2017 incorporating the Riding Pony Stud Book Society Feature Show, Children’s Day, Working Hunters and the prestigious Open and Amateur Gary Robson Memorial Hack Challenge.

The show started on Thursday and will run until Sunday afternoon with some of the country’s best competitors vying for prizes.

Shelley says she has been competing at Lismore for about 15 years and says it’s a great show and she gets to catch up with lots of friends. ‘It’s definitely the people’, says Shirley. ‘It’s very social as well as competitive. There are some of the best horses in the area.’

‘There are people here from Victoria and North Queensland and everywhere in between.’

Lilly and her friend Australian Pony ‘Kooyong “Dixie” Alexandria’, competed in the Lead Pony event as the sun rose and were awarded the runner up sash in that event.
