Sunday saw the sun smiling on the one thousand and sixty five competitors who took to the waters of the very beautiful and largely wild, Brunswick River for the annual Mullum2Bruns paddle. This makes it the largest paddle in Australia.
Of the paddle boards, canoes, kayaks, dragon boats and surf rescue boats that made up this year’s event, many were very competitive but many more were in it just for fun
While results are still to come in, it’s clear that everyone from the well muscled serious competitors to the superbly styled variety entrants had a fabulous time.
Following the event, entrants enjoyed family-friendly entertainment at the Terrace.
The sun-drenched rippled Brunswick River waters was a paddlers delight to see in a paddle boat last Sunday and just as cool as licking a strawberry ripple ice cream, sweet and neat, a social and friendly thing, with the paddle dipping in and dipping out and the water trickling down and dripping back into the surface reflections from all the happy faces from many places just having fun in the Mullum2Bruns paddle in many boats built for two, and for you, and you, and you.
