Re ‘Nats in renewed bid to win majority at Tweed Poll’ in Echonetdaily yesterday. It’s no surprise that the National Party is fielding more groups in the upcoming election. Perhaps they are feeling under threat from Independent community candidates.
Residents need to ask themselves do they want Tweed Council dominated by the party politics of the National Party? Haven’t we enough governance by political parties both at a state and federal level?
Councillors should be there to represent residents and not political party philosophies. We want councillors who will genuinely consult with residents and community groups not just be seen to have token public consultation.
We want councillors who will truly represent residents. Voters please think carefully when you vote for your representatives for the next four years.
