I live in Burringbar Street, Mullumbimby, and at least over the past six months there has been an increasing amount of vehicles speeding through town, usually between 9pm and 2am.
They also speed through town during the week, but more often weekend return trips from entertainment.
You can hear these cars at least 2km away, perhaps living in the new estate Azalea Street or Main Arm Road on the north west side.
I have contacted the police twice, once at the Mullumbimby station and recently on Sunday night at Byron Bay after hearing skidding/screeching and cars doing ‘doughnuts’ on the road near the high school.
It would take the police roughly 20 minutes to get here from Byron, but the offenders had already made their way home.
Surely there are other residents who are experiencing first hand these inconsiderate and dangerous acts of road rage?
It is a small town and there are other people who live here besides these ‘egomaniacs’.
