A 19-year-old Queensland man has been charged after almost driving head-on into a car driven by a police officer who was on his way to work at Nimbin.
Police said the incident happened on Tuesday when the officer was on his way to the Nimbin police station to begin his shift.
While driving along Nimbin Road, an oncoming car crossed the road and drove straight at the police officer’s car.
The officer was forced to break harshly to avoid an accident and the 19-year-old driver crashed into a guard rail.
Police attended and discovered cannabis in the 19-year-old’s car.
Checks revealed he did not have a valid licence.
The Queensland man was charged with driving while unlicensed, negligent driving and possessing a prohibited drug.
If a man drives at a police car, then don’t you think he would be able to hit a police car. How did the man drive at a police car and hit a river.
It means if he drove at a river that river woule brake suddenly he would not be able to hit it and he would hit a farm house.
I hope that soft-hearted judge who sits in Lismore Court reads about this and see if he maintains that cannabis doesn’t affect driving skills.
Give it a break Jon, this isn’t the 1960’s reefer madness era anymore. Does it say he was high on cannabis? No, it doesn’t.
7 states in the US now have totally legal recreational cannabis that adults can buy in shops just like alcohol or tobacco, but the big difference with cannabis is that unlike alcohol and tobacco which have both killed millions of people weed has never killed anyone from it’s direct use. Over half of the US states now also have legal medicinal cannabis, a lot of states allowing full plant cannabis use. It is a wonderful medication for so many ailments.
The states that have now legalised cannabis (all 7 of them) are also seeing things like less car accidents, less hard drug use, less crime in general and massive amounts of tax as the profits have been taken away from crime gangs and are now able to be used by the governments to upgrade roads, schools and hospitals. Also in Colorado which legalised many years ago now for adults they have seen no increase in mental health issues.
Ask anyone who works in a hospital who they see more of patient wise, tobacco users, alcohol users or weed users. I think we all know which one comes in last.
Jon, chill out a bit mate, prohibition of such a safe plant is never going to be a good idea. Australia will legalise it eventually, too many people use it, there’s such a huge demand for it and the government are currently leaving the profits in the hands of crime gangs who can then use those profits to produce and import ice.
