Update, 11.30pm: The Bruxner Highway has reopened in both directions after being closed for several hours a female pedestrian was hit on the Ballina Street Bridge, Lismore, at around 6.45am this morning.
The Traffic Management Centre previously advised motorists heading out of town to divert via Dawson Street, Woodlark Street and Union Street. Inbound traffic is advised to follow the same route in reverse.
The pedestrian, a woman in her 60s was rushed to Lismore Base Hospital after receiving head injuries.
Toddler killed in crash
The 31-year-old man has undergone mandatory blood and urine testing after the truck he was driving struck and killed a toddler in South Grafton yesterday.
Just after 8am (Sunday March 26), emergency services were called to a home on Hawthorne Street, South Grafton, and found a three-year-old girl critically injured.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated her at the scene before taking her to Grafton Base Hospital, where she later died.
