Shores United’s dreams came true on April 8 when all four men’s teams played at home for the first time.

In the first division the Brown Snakes took on ex-premier league South Lismore, under lights.

The match was played at an incredible pace not seen before at Shores. A big crowd saw the injury-affected Snakes involved in a classic arm wrestle with the highly rated Souths. The physical battle raged on with a number of tough challenges, but scores were locked nil all at the half. The Snakes came out in the second half and slowly began to get the upper hand, and, managed to score.

The arm wrestle resumed  and just when it seemed the Snakes had done enough, Souths cut through the middle to equalise. The final 1–1 score was a fair result in a cracker of a game.

The day kicked off with the mighty 7s far too good for a brave but outclassed Eureka. Goals from Utchy, Hedgy and a hat trick from super Ray sealed the deal: Shores 5 Eureka 2.

Next up Shores 6s tackled an organised Lennox Head and went down 3–0. They are improving.

In the 4th division match against the poor flooded-out boys from South Lismore, Shores came back from 2–1 down at half time to earn a 3–3 draw. With just seconds to go Kaine was able to bludgeon a cross into the net and share the spoils of the game.

A great day for Shores.
