Fifty-six teams from eight regional netball associations played in more than 120 games last Sunday as part of the representative carnival hosted by the Brunswick Byron Netball Association at the new look Mullumbimby Courts.

‘The carnival was a huge success with teams coming from as far away as Nambucca Valley,’ BBNA secretary Janine Burger said.

‘The weather was perfect and our new shelters were utilised very well.

Scores for each game weren’t recorded as the day was all about giving players a chance to develop their skills in preparation for two sets of statewide championship played in and around Sydney in June and July.

Players from the U/12s through to Opens played from 9am till just after 3pm.

The Mullumbimby Courts were crowded for most of the day with players and spectators taking advantage of the new shade. Everything else went smoothly, Janine said.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.
