In the 2nd half we picked up our defense and only let the strong Kyogle side in for a few points. In the forwards Shiloh was again our best player, well supported by Coen and Brendon. Doug was solid in attack and defence. Us did not carry their training form into the game against Kyogle. Our defence let us down with Kyogle players breaking through at will. The forwards need to hunt more as a pack. Luke scored an outstanding individual try. Joey kicked our only goal. Harry did good things in attack and defence while Eli was our best player. Us returned to the winners list on the weekend. With 6 new players this season the teams combination and confidence will take some time to grow. We defeated Kyogle - with Jamie, Kyle, Guy and Matt P the stand outs. Mullumbimby Juniors 5. 7s met Tugan at home with Nathan R not holding back. Horseracing in the Bay lost popularity in the intervening years, but has been revitalised by the Lions with the Byron Bay Cup. Next Sunday, horse racing enthusiasts or anyone who wants to have a great day out are heading down to ballina jockey club
for an eight-race program and lots of heavenly hats. Pack the car with picnic gear, dust off your best frock and tails for a day full of interesting competitions. There will be prizes for the Best Themed Boot Party, a Toss the Thong Competition, Hat of the Day of course, a prize for the best and most innovatively dressed ladies. The main race of the day is the Byron Bay Cup, run over metres and sponsored by the Beach Hotel. Weve gone all out for this Sunday meeting, says Gary Kliese, former jockey and Ballina Jockey Club committee man. The main event is an open class handicap and I envisage a full field of starters. With over 2.5 million spent on the grandstand plus a further 2.5 million on the track and surrounds, the Ballina Jockey Club is proud to stage this full TAB meeting and is behind the Byron Bay Lions Club. Buses depart from the Byron Visitors Centre, for bookings phone .The Creekers have a goStudents from Wilsons Creek Public School excelled in the recent Small Schools Cross Country event.
