have announced their latest community initiative Imagination A creative manifestation by the children of Bangalow. Teaching staff at bangalow public
School and Bangalow Community Childrens Centre conceived Imagination as an opportunity for the students to exhibit their art pieces within a professionally set-up arena while also presenting a fundraising opportunity. Principal of Bangalow Public School, Tim Edwards, said, It is terrific how the whole school is involved in a variety of different projects for this exhibition. The creativity and imagination shown by the students is wonderful. The children are being assisted in the creation of their masterpieces by talented parents and artists from within the community who have volunteered their time and expertise. Kerry Ellbourn, Director of BCCC, said, Through exploration of their environment, children, as natural artists, express their thoughts, emotions and their own unique way of understanding the world. Teachers at BCCC give children time to develop and practise their ideas and to explore these ideas in many different ways by offering quality materials and experiences. This inaugural art exhibition will be on display to the public for one night only from 6pm on Wednesday June 3 atthe Bangalow AI Hall with the official opening to be held at 7pm by distinguished Australian artist and art educator, Peter Powditch. It is estimated that the exhibition will showcase over pieces of original artwork that will be sold off on the night to the public and parents. Parents will be able to purchase individual works bytheir children and there will be a public auction held for larger art pieces that have been created collaboratively within the various classesstages. Tickets are per person and that includes cheeses and wines. Tickets are available from either Bangalow Public School or BCCC. Numbers will be strictly limited.
