| Local man dies in car crash at Byron Bay |
Byron Bay identity Ben Donohoe, 20, has died following a single vehicle crash at Byron Bay last Sunday morning.
According to a police report, about 3.15am a Volvo station wagon was travelling south along Bangalow Road, Byron Bay, when it failed to negotiate a left hand turn, mounted a curb and struck a tree.
As a result the rear seat passenger, Mr Donohoe, was ejected and died at the scene. The driver, a 26-year-old man, and his 24-year-old male front seat passenger, both locals, were taken to Tweed Heads Hospital. One was later transferred to the Gold Coast hospital.
A crime scene was established and inquiries into the cause of the crash will be carried out by officers from the Ballina Crash Investigation Unit.

Ben Donohoe was a surfer and was involved with the Red Devils rugby league team.
