During Sunday’s afternoon whale-watching tour, Migaloo and another whale were sighted north of Byron Bay at approximately 2pm, says Robert Dalton from Whale Watching Byron Bay.

‘They were cruising in a southerly direction surfacing at about 3–4 minute intervals.

‘They were joined by some other whales as they were passing Byron Bay and then all these whales made a sharp righthand turn and swam into the middle of the bay. These whales dispersed soon after though Migaloo hung around for about 30 minutes just south west of Julian Rocks interacting with the same whale we initially encountered him with.’
