Byron Council staff baulk at councillors’ promise of free parking for locals

Will Byron Council deliver on its pledge to make parking permits free for locals across the Shire when paid parking comes into force in Brunswick Heads?

The Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) is calling for community feedback into the decision to cease issuing fines from the Clunes speed camera.

This follows community outrage over the revelation last week that speeding through Clunes more than doubled in September after fines ceased to be issued on August 29.

Residents met with local MP Thomas George and RTA representatives during the week and the authority undertook to re-examine the issue, including taking community submissions. Email [email protected].
