Rally in Byron against Gaza war

Locals are being called to join in a rally at Byron Bay this Saturday at 2pm calling on the Australian government to take action against the deaths of Palestinians in the invasion of Gaza by Israel. 

The Rainbow Region Dragon Boat Club is still recruiting new members after a successful come-and-try day at the Lennox Markets.

Sixty-five keen prospective paddlers came to try to master the technique.

The group now owns two boats and fields four teams: a mixed sports team, an all-women’s team, a men’s ten, and Rainbow Dragons Abreast – a team of breast cancer survivors and supporters.

The group competes in local regattas and trains five times a week at Lake Ainsworth. It’s appealing to local businesses for sponsorship.
