Manly has retained its title at the Allphones NSW Age Surf Life Saving Championships held at Kingscliff on the weekend.
The Tweed welcomed close to 3,000 nippers and their families for this weekend’s junior state titles, the second year the far northern NSW town has hosted the championships.
But Avoca Beach came within a whisker of toppling the dominant Sydney club, finishing just five points behind Manly with North Cronulla in third.
The top performing country club was Coffs Harbour and the host club Cudgen Headland finished in 20th position.
The Masters/Open competition starts this Thursday and concludes Sunday 11 with the premier ironmen and ironwomen finals.
