Method Sphinx Rock Cafe Sunday

Roots duo Method makes a welcome return from self-imposed exile this May with a string of shows around the Northern Rivers area. Oz roots music in its purest form, Method bridges the gap between Americana Swamp and the Celts, evoking the journey folk music has made across the Atlantic and Pacific to end up with a unique Australian sound. These are soundscapes and songs locked firmly in a gravely groove, delivering a rhythm driven roots experience with a lyrical heart. A new Australian Alt. Folk, played by two master musicians with humour, passion and world class Method.

Residing at opposite ends of the state, members Bill Jacobi and Frank Corby have kept this long distance musical relationship alive with regular bouts of touring and recording. While Frank is regularly seen in the drum seat with The Bondi Cigars, Bill maintains a long-standing involvement as bassist with Floyd Vincent and the Childbrides and is also regularly spotted in soloist and one-man band mode. Put them together and you have Method.

Currently working on their fourth album, you can catch them live at The Sphinx Rock Cafe on Sunday.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.
