Who knew Senator Bob Brown had written a book of poetry? The 67-year-old openly gay former Greens leader is best known for his commitment to the environment, his honesty in politics and his love of the Tasmanian wilderness.

He has written several books about the last of these passions – plus a tome of verse – which ably qualifies him to be keynote speaker at this year’s Byron Bay Writers’ Festival.
