Cast members of CSG: The Musical visited the site of the Metgasco evaporation pond vigil on Pollocks Road west of Casino yesterday to perform for the community members conducting the vigil.
‘They are showing great commitment out there and this is our way of showing them support,’ said John McPherson, one of more than 50 cast members in the musical.
‘As the show is going on stage at the Workers Club from this Thursday we realised that a number of them would be unable to attend, so, in the spirit of showing them support, we took parts of the show to them.
‘We thought that our actions might also help lift their spirits, but after visiting the site on Monday, I discovered that their morale is very high, despite the resumption of excavation activity on the site.’
The vigil, now in its second week, initially stopped work on the site, and is now monitoring the activities of the Metgasco contractors.
Today Greens MP Cate Faehrmann will visit the site.
