Hell is a Cabaret, Gollan Hotel, tonight

If Hell is a cabaret then I want a front-row seat. The demented preacher of all that is perfectly bent, Mr Jimmy Willing, presents Hell is a Cabaret at the Gollan Hotel in Lismore on Friday. Featuring Greg Sheehan, one of Australia’s most talented percussionists, and Bertie Page, one of our nation’s most wonderful burlesque beauties.

Only a mind as diabolical as Jimmy’s could dream up an act where the percussionist plays every inch and curve of the burlesque beauty’s body as his musical instrument, and only a mind like Jimmy’s would then dub this duo with the lurid title ‘Greg Sheehan does Bertie Page’. But that’s Hell is a Cabaret all over, an eyebrow-raising, adults-only kaleidoscope of puppetry, burlesque, art and music. It’s bent, kooky and definitely left of centre.

Hell is a Cabaret will also feature The Porno Puppets of Prague, S Sorrensen, The Von Tramp Family Puppets, John Myer, Sheehan’s Magic Toy Shop, Circus The Singing Dog and The Real Gone Hick-Ups.

Don’t miss it live and FREE! at the Gollan Hotel Lismore 8.30 Friday night.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.
