Local tradesmen – many of whom are still reeling from the collapse of GJ Gardiner Ballina – have been hit again with another building company going into administration.
Baseline Constructions, which has been responsible for the renovation of the Ballina Central Shopping Centre, went into receivership last week and a meeting of creditors… is planned for Sydney on Wednesday.
The company’s website says that it has been in business since 1993 and boasts that it ‘is committed to providing service to our clients and encompassing all their needs and objectives’.
Meanwhile local tradespeople are out of pocket once again – some to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Lismore painting contractor Tony Durheim told local media his business was owed $135,000 for work stretching back to last year.
