Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a drive-by shooting at Rappville yesterday.

About 3.15pm police were called to Nandabah Street after shots were fired into a house.

Officers from Richmond Local Area Command found bullet casings outside the house and damage to the front door.

No-one was home during the incident.

Witnesses saw a white Holden utility with Queensland registration plates, which stopped outside the house.

Police said the driver fired a number of shots in the direction of the house before speeding away.

Detectives are appealing for any witnesses, who haven’t already spoken to police, to come forward.

The driver, and sole occupant, is described as being of Caucasian appearance, of fair complexion, with short hair, a goatee and thin face.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Richmond Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

All calls to Crime Stoppers are treated with the strictest confidence.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.
