Richmond MP Justine Elliot today announced $35,000 in funding for the Cabarita Surf Life Saving Club to provide training for young members as part of the federal government’s Youth Development and Support Program (YDSP).
The project will enable 20 young members to develop their skills in training through completing a TAFE Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and then on-teach these skills to other members and the wider community.
‘This funding will help Cabarita Surf Life Saving Club provide much needed assistance to young people on the north coast,’ Ms Elliot said.
Since 2009, 101 organisations have received funding under the YDSP supporting more than 130,000 young people.
