Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.

  1. I am calling for a ban on Real Estate Agents and Developers on Councils.

Real Estate agents and Developers make their living selling land. The simple fact is that any Council decision regarding the use of land, the sale of land, the management of policies involving land use and management is comprised when vested interests sit on the Council. Examples cited at recent public meetings, the proposed development in Grey’s Lane, with a spurious suggestion that the “development would fix the road” highlights the need to ban Real Estate Agents and Developers from Council.

I am a School Principal – my vested interests: ensuring our towns and villages are well planned so families and children can afford to live, grow and learn in our beautiful Shire.

I am standing for Council along side Paul Spooner as Mayor.
