A woman fell over the cliff at Pat Morton lookout at Lennox Headland at around 7.30 last night. The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter flew to the scene and paramedics were winched into the base of the headland where police rescue officers were already attending to her.
The woman’s condition was stabilised and she was moved down the cliff face to a ledge. She was winched into the helicopter and flown to Lismore Base Hospital in a serious condition with multiple injuries.
A spokesperson for the Helicopter told Echonetdaily it was a difficult rescue, with the chopper hovering overhead for more than 30 minutes before landing on the headland to save fuel ahead of the rescue.
