Members of the CSG-Free Communities campaign have signed up in droves to join the North Coast National after Lismore’s show organisers announced earlier this year that they would no longer accept sponsorship from CSG miner Metgasco.

Lock the Gate Northern Rivers and its affiliate groups made the show of support on identifiable yellow membership forms, according to organisers, and more than 100 supporters joined the National as a result.

North Coast National president John Gibson said Metgasco was still free to exhibit at the show but as yet they had not registered.

The North Coast National runs from Thursday October 18 to Saturday October 20. Membership forms are available at northcoastnational.com.au.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.
