A Ballina man is facing court after allegedly kidnapping a woman in Coffs Harbour earlier this month.
On November 11, a 29-year-old woman contacted Coffs Harbour police saying she had been held against her will after a man approached her at a Coffs Harbour boarding house.
The woman told police that after the man approached her she allegedly lost consciousness and woke up in unfamiliar surroundings.
The woman was able to escape.
On Friday 24 detectives attached to Coffs Clarence Local Area Command arrested a 22-year-old Ballina man, who was taken to Ballina Police Station and subsequently charged with take and detain a person with intent to obtain an advantage.
Police have not ruled out laying further charges.
The man was refused bail and is to appear in Lismore Local Court today.
