Byron Shire Council is holding an extraordinary meeting today to discuss the recruitment of a general manager.

The Shire’s top job pays $190,559 per year (excluding allowances), according to Byron Council’s annual report from 2010/11.

The Councillor Recruitment Panel has completed first-round interviews and shortlisted a number of applicants for final-stage interviews.

It is expected that councillors and staff will move into confidential session to discuss the report, which was prepared by executive manager of organisational support, Shannon McKelvey.

A public report on the GM’s recruitment is available on Council’s website: www.byron.nsw.gov.au.
