Kingscliff Men
5 November 2012 – Friday Night Inter-Club Challenge: ‘Tails’ had the joint jumping with his selection of Top 10 and classic rock pumping out over the greens during the match between Kingscliff and Cabarita on Friday 2nd November. The music obviously drew the best out of our bowlers who scored a decisive 5 rinks to 1 win over Cabarita. The night was wrapped up with a sausage barbecue and sponsor Terry Abrahams and Aero Bowls offering a set of Aero Bowls and a Comfit Pro bowls bag for auction. Two bowlers went home very happy with the great deals they got.

Ocean Shores Women
Wed 7 Nov (Highest margin)
Not only did the team of B Sprengel, L Wright and D Gardiner have the same margin as G Johnston, W Sprengel and S Woolford but they also had the same number of ends required for a count back. So the winners were decided by a pick of the cards and it was all smiles to B Sprengel’s team so congratulations to them. B Paine, N Gartner, J Williams put up a gallant challenge as did M Flesser, G Fox and J Seamer but to no avail.
Fri 9 Nov
Margaret Hosie proved she is a force to be reckoned with when she teamed up with A Slater and M Bertoli to easily win the highest number of ends, which was the game chosen for the day’s play. Margaret recently was runner-up with Kerry Roberts in the Rock ’n’ Roll bowls tournament so is certainly ‘on a roll’ (literally). J Busch and L McGowran won the most number of ends against the team of C Timewell and J Williams and even though the team of M Lee, M Flesser and N Gartner didn’t quite make it, they were elated when M Lee (a visiting friend of Margaret Hosie’s) won the day’s raffle.
*** Don’t forget the following events this month: Golf/Bowls day on the 16th (be at the Club by 8.15am); Kingscliff visit (am) Sunday 18 and MOB day Thursday 22.
