Kingscliff Men
Friday Night Inter-Club Challenge: Kingscliff travelled to Cabarita on November 23. While all had good first games, Cabarita came back in the second game to record a good win. The final game is to be played at Condong.
District News: The Zone 1 Champion of Club Fours Champions was played at Yamba last weekend. At this stage I must apologise to Ken Banks as I have mistakenly included Trevor Hills in the team instead of Ken. Sorry about that Ken. The Kingscliff team of Brian Turner, Ken Banks, Greg Barrack and Michael Turner ultimately won the zone final of the Club Champion of Champions – congratulations!
Club Championship News: The Mixed Fours Final was played between the teams of Anne Wonka, Keith Dawson (sub for Tony Wonka), Sandra Akers, Ian Taylor and Cathy James, Michael Turner, Vicki White, Russell McLeay last Saturday 24 November. At the end only one point separated the two teams. Congratulations to both teams for an excellent final won by Cathy, Michael, Vicki and Russell.
In the B Grade Singles semifinal completed on Saturday November 24, Ray Phipps proved too strong for John Julius. In the final, David Miller and Ray Phipps demonstrated to the spectators the fine draw bowls that got them to the final. In the end Ray managed to get away to a 31–22 win. Congratulations to both players on an great final.

*** Kingscliff Men’s Bowls Club Committee: The committee for the next year was installed at the AGM last Sunday November 25. The 2012 committee paid tribute to the excellent working relationship between the board and management of Kingscliff Beach Bowls Club and themselves and looked forward to this continuing in 2013. The 2012 committee also thanked the bowlers for their great support during 2012.

Friday 23 Nov Social – Secret Margin: M Bertoli (swinger), C Timewell and B Sprengel kept fingers crossed that the secret margin would be close to the two shots they beat M Bertoli, L Wright and F Crowder by but on opening the envelope containing the secret number it revealed that M Farquhar, C Bruce (visitor from Belrose) and L McGowran were the closest. They had a closely fought game against J Busch, R Wrigley and M James. What a week for Lyn – a big birthday bash and to top it off she won the day’s raffle.
