Men’s Christmas Party: Bowlers celebrated the end of the year with our annual Christmas party. This was again a great success and thanks go to the organisers. Fine weather saw everyone enjoy a full afternoon of bowls followed by celebrations in the Bowlers Lounge. President Terry was very pleased to present Clubman of the Year to Alan Simpson during our celebrations. Raffles were then held, which included major prizes of $200 and Christmas hams. A bundle of smaller prizes were also raffled off and thanks to Terry Abrahams who provided a range of Comfit Pro gear for the smaller prizes. A big thank you to our club staff, in particular Helen, Sue, Simone and Damien, who ensured that the celebrations ran smoothly and to Jason for preparing a great meal. Entertainment was provided by Grumpy, Tails and Jethro in the form of jokes that included stories of bears, Santa, the pope and night carts. It was very pleasing to be joined by our patron, Norm Madden, for the meal and also by Roy Norris who, at 95 years, is our oldest bowling member.

Wrong Bias: Part of our post-game routine is for bowlers who bowl a wrong bias to contribute one dollar for each wrong bias. This money is then donated to the Oncology Unit at Tweed Heads Hospital, and has seen in excess of $1500 being donated. Well done, bowlers.
