The Byron Bay Red Devils are looking ahead to the new season with great anticipation with the fielding of three strong sides in the NRRRL competition.
Coaches Scott Sattler and Nathan Cross have already established a strong relationship with the players with in their pre-season preparation with major emphasis on the players having fun at training while at the same time establishing modern structures and drills, with particular efforts being placed on the under-18s who are also being mentored by a number of the senior players. It’s great to see players already attending training but as always new players will be made welcome.
Byron Red Devils are pictured handing over a cheque for $1,500 to the Byron Hospital Auxiliary. The Auxiliary does a wonderful job collecting gate takings during home games. It’s a great relationship – two community-based organisations working together. Club president Damon McCarthy is with Maureen Weir from the Byron Hospital Auxiliary and club treasurer Connor Crichton and head coach Nathan Cross. Joy Taylor and Lorraine Gilmore from Byron Hospital Auxiliary are in the back row.
