A woman was seriously injured after being hit by a lounge thrown from a balcony in a hotel at Tamworth on Friday.
A 32 year old man from Ballina and a 27 year old man from Queensland were arrested over the incident.
The woman was on the ground floor of the hotel in Brisbane Street at about 10pm on Friday when the two seater lounge was allegedly thrown over the first floor railing, falling about seven metres.
The two men were arrested at another hotel nearby a short time later and taken to Tamworth Police Station where they were charged with recklessly causing grievous bodily harm in company, and assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.
The 43 year old Tamworth woman suffered spinal injuries and was taken to Tamworth Base Hospital where she was stabilised before being flown to John Hunter Hospital.
Both men were due to appear in a Tamworth Local Court on Saturday 3.
