Details have yet to be released about what killed a 41 year old Ballina man who died in a mining accident in the state’s west on Saturday.
In the first mining related death in NSW since mid 2011, Jeremy Junk died from head injuries sustained while working at the CSA copper mine in Cobar late Saturday afternoon.
Investigations into the cause of his death by the NSW Trade and Investment investigation unit are expected to take at least a year.
Workmates and family members are receiving counselling.
Echonetdaily believes he had been working at the mine for about 18 months.
