Brunswick Heads Women 

Tuesday March 19: No. 2  Pennant game  between  Brunswick Heads  and Kingscliff’s 2s saw Kingscliff just manage to hold on against Brunswick. After an impressive lead early, Kingscliff faltered slightly and were just able to get home 34 to 32. Brunswick had one  rink win. The 4s had a bye Tuesday. Social Bowls: Julie Sanderson & Judy Wright 30 def Margaret Darby & Lyn Proudlock 16. Jennie Lofts & Dawn Hay 32 def Annie Revie & Nan Stearman 22. Winners: J Lofts & D Hay. Thursday 21: Both Pennant teams ventured to Pottsville and the 2s had a less than memorable game, with Pottsville outbowling them on both rinks. The 2s however fared slightly better with one rink win by Judy Wright and a loss by  Darilyn Guest to give Pottsville the overall points on the day. The 2s have finished their pennant season and congratulations go to Pottsville for winning this.

*** A belated Easter afternoon tea  combined with a celebration for the end of the pennant season will be held at the Club on Tuesday April 9 at 3.30pm.  This is the first day back to our normal bowling time of 1pm  All bowling members welcome.

Byron Bay Men

Results for last Thursday – winners Bob Macaulay and Peter Darby. Meat tray won by Gavin McPhail. Jackpot not won.

Saturday’s social bowls winners are Brian Burton and Pat Anderson, runners-up Ray Henderson and Bev Gawned.

*** Thursday’s self selected pairs jackpot has now reached $500 and must be won this Thursday March 28. From now on it will only reach $200 and will go off if not won before this amount.

Pennants start on Saturday April 6 with a home game for our No 2s and No 6s will play Bangalow at Bangalow. Team sides are on the noticeboard.

Byron Bay Women

Tuesday March 19 saw social bowls trophy go to Mary Phelps, Bev Gawned and Jenny Meinel.

*** We have decided to start bowls a little earlier due to the heat at this time of year. So that we can be out on the green at 9.15am for bowls we are asking that names be in by 8.45am (and money by 9am) for those wishing to have a game. Be at the club by then or ring your name through on 6685 6202.

Visitors are welcome any Tuesday morning.

In Grade 4 Burringbar took the honours by winning all three rinks while in the Grade 6 at  Bangalow Mullum went down 2–1. All teams enjoyed the day and took advantage of the trials in preparing for the Pennant season.
