A reminder that The Echo and Echonetdaily in conjunction with the Gold Coast Titans are looking for junior sportswriters to cover home games during the 2013 NRL season.

Junior players from local rugby clubs are invited to apply and will be offered the chance to participate in the Cadet Journalist program and write a story that will be published in The Echo and Echonetdaily.

Junior reporters will be hosted at Skilled Park home games and will be given a subject on which they will write about 200 words for publication.

Subject will vary from the day in the life of a player to what sort of preparation the coach will put the team through.

To apply for a cadetship, simply email, with parental permission, you name, age and club to: [email protected].

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.
