Terania blockade film to support Wallum cause

Afternoon tea was held at the conclusion of the games, and special mention was made about Joan Loomes who had just celebrated her 94th birthday. A lovely big rainbow sponge cake was cut by Joan and enjoyed by all.

Kingscliff Men

Pennants News: Round One saw Kingscliff score wins in five of the six divisions with the loss in Division 5 being by only one point. Division 1 had a 5–1 result against Cabarita. Division 2 also had a 5–1 result against Byron Bay. Division 4 similarly had a 5–1 result against Cabarita. Division 5 went down 1–5 against Pottsville. Division 6 had a 6–0 result against Cudgen and Division 7 scored a 4–2 result against Ocean Shores. On Saturday 13 April four divisions will play at home so it will be great to have plenty of supporters come along. Division 1 plays Ocean Shores at Kingscliff, Division 2 plays Condong at Kingscliff, Division 4 plays Cudgen at Cudgen, Division 5 plays Condong at Kingscliff, Division 6 plays Cabarita at Kingscliff and Division 7 plays Condong at Condong. Good luck to all teams.

Club Championship News: Open Fours and Open Triples: Nominations for the Open Fours closed 7 April. Please check the board for the draw. Nominations for the Open Triples close on 14 April.

District News: In the Open Pairs played at Ocean Shores Ian Taylor and Michael Turner are through to the final to be played against T Makin’s team from Ocean Shores. The Final will be played at Ocean Shores at 1pm on 14 April. In the Senior Pairs played at Pottsville teams skipped by Ron Erikson, John Brinsmead, Peter Murphy and Kevin Liddington are through to the 3rd round. This will be played at Pottsville on Sunday 14 April. Games commence at 9am with the semifinal to be played in the afternoon.

As we near the (rain delayed) final stages of the Corporate Challenge, the team standings are: Club Crew still in the lead with 30 points/28 ends followed by CSR 27/25, Ex-Middle 26/30, Hobby Farmers 23/21, Thommo’s Trailer Trash and The Dark Side both sitting on 22/24, Teachers Aide 22/22, Can’t Nail Us Down 22/19, Rose Between the Thorns 21/28, Ken Ryan Plastering 18/21, Office Choice 16/24, Jems 16/19, Toads @ Leisure 16/17, GPR 15/15, Totally Wasted 10/18, Tractors North 10/15, Dunno 8/20 and French Connection (a little disconnected) 8/16. No team is yet guaranteed the much cherished trophy.

6/4/13 Pennants

Grade 4 played at home but the visitors, Burringbar, took all three rinks scoring 6–0; however they did concede our Chef won the day.

Grade 6 did marginally better, playing away against Ocean Shores, losing two out of three rinks to give Ocean Shores a 5½–½ points result.
