For the second time in five years, the Brunswick Valley School of Dance performance troupe has been chosen as just one of 50 teams from around the world to compete in Los Angeles at the Dance Excellence eisteddfod. The girls will compete against the international dance troupes as well as another 50 of the best dance schools in the US. The Bruns 2 LA troupe, under the guidance of school principal and creative director Carly Connors, will spend the time between now and their trip next April fundraising for the big event, including performances, a chocolate drive, sausage sizzles, guess the lollies in the jar and cake stalls to name a few. Their first big raffle will see the lucky winner with a double pass to Splendour in the Grass. Look for the girls out and about in their dance school T-shirts – senior troupe members Ruby, Leah, Sarah and Breanna are very excited about their trip to the US.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.
