A 27-year-old Byron Bay man has been arrested after an armed robbery at Pottsville yesterday afternoon.
A robber got away with cash and drugs after he threatened a staff member at the pharmacy.
Tweed-Byron duty officer Bill Darnell said the robber demanded cash and medicine with ‘a large knife’ just before 4.50pm.
Acting on information from the community, police arrested a man at a Byron Bay house last night.
‘He’s known to New South Wales and Queensland police,’ Acting Inspector Darnell told APN Media.
‘He’s been bail refused and is due to appear in the Tweed Heads Local Court today.’
The man has been charged with robbery while armed.
