The new Australian Marbles Schools Champion is Brunswick Heads Public School with Sam Pfeil and Tex Ulgekett-Robertson too dominant for the Pocket Public School finalists Harvey and Seth.
The new Australian Junior Marbles Champion is seven-year-old Jordan O’Hearn from Mullumbimby with runners up in a tie of Torsten and Acacia Mundt from Eltham.
The Open Australian Marbles Championship was won in a thrilling best of three games final by Terry Raskall from Penrith in western Sydney by 2 games to 1 over Andrew Hanlon from Cawongla. Hanlon was the previous title holder and winner over the past four years, this year having to settle for the silver runner-up medal.
Terry travelled up from Sydney specifically to play in these championships and was overwhelmed by the standard and set-up of the tournament. He has assured us he will be back to defend his title next year and more than likely bring another few players with him.
