A man appeared before Lismore Local Court yesterday after police allegedly seized over $3.5 million worth of cannabis from a home near Casino on Tuesday morning.
Police who raided the home in Bottle Creek, about 60 kilometres west of Casino, around 7.45am allegedly seized 130kg of cannabis leaf and head, 140 grams of hashish and 567 plants at varying levels of maturity. They also seized $46,000 in cash.
They estimate the combined value of the drugs at approximately $3.7 million.
A 57-year-old man was arrested and taken to Casino Police Station where he was charged with: possessing a prohibited drug; supplying a prohibited drug (large commercial quantity); cultivating a prohibited plant by enhanced indoor means (large commercial quantity); cultivating a prohibited plant (commercial quantity); manufacturing a prohibited drug; and dealing with proceeds of crime.
He was refused bail.
