Dr Vacy Vlazna, Collaroy

Thank you for publishing the article about Australia Post hijacking ANZAC heroism to normalise the abnormal and brutal Israeli occupation.

Directly linking the Battle of Beersheba with the establishment of the state of Israel is despicable propaganda or what Israel calls ‘hasbara’ ie lies.

It is a downright lie that young Australian AIF soldiers, who fought on Palestinian soil alongside Palestinian farmers, died or were injured for an Israel which did not exist.

The Australian government’s attempts to denigrate the non-violent BDS movement, and now the fact that they have a joint project stamping approval on Israel should alert Australians to stand firm on Palestine’s political and human rights under international law.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.
