A Tweed dementia screening program and a Mullumbimby-based birthing service received top gongs at the recent Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSW LHD) Quality Awards.
The annual awards honour excellence among clinical teams working in diverse settings.
This year they included hospitals, community health, mental health, dementia care and the specialist management of hepatitis C.
Team finalists came from across the region: Tweed Heads, Lismore and Kyogle hospitals, Mullumbimby Community Birthing Service, the LHD Drug & Alcohol and Donate Life teams, and other services.
NNSW LHD Board Chair Dr Brian Pezzutti said, ‘The range and quality of these projects indicates the NNSW LHD’s close involvement with the community’s health care needs at every level, from the designing of preventive health programs through to the delivery of acute and primary care services. The standard of the award entries are a great testament to our innovative and highly professional staff.’
