Shenhua gone and Breeza breathes again

In a much-hoped-for move, the NSW Government and the China Shenhua Energy Company Limited have reached a $100 million agreement in which Shenhua will withdraw its mining lease application and surrender its development consent for the Shenhua Watermark Coal project at Breeza on the Liverpool Plains.

Pottsville Men

August 19-20:  Seabreeze Classic Triples – This being the 10th Anniversary of this prestigious event, sponsored by the Tricare Retirement Community Village at Hastings Point, the Pottsville men organised perfect winter weather to ensure the bowling conditions for all contestants were spot on.

84 of the best bowers from Kadanga (Gympie Qld area) in the North to way down Grafton way in the South converged on Pottsville, filling the greens to capacity, for the tournament.  With nigh on $4,000 in prize money up for grabs, competition was fierce between the rivals in this competition with an agenda of 3 games of 18 ends on day one and 2 games of 21 ends on day two.

Top money for the overall winners of this event went to Barry Sheppard, Mick Morgan and Bill Creedon (Cabarita).  Second prize was collected by Ian Taylor, Ken Banks and Greg Barrack (Kingscliff).  Winning skips for the remainder of the prizes were – 3rd. Ted Read, 4th. Brett Wicks, 5th. Laurie Freeman, 6th, Brian “Wakey” Wakefield, 7th. Jim Banks, 8th. Jack Horne, 9th Troy Peel.  Round Winners Day 1 – 1st. Ken Coyte, 2nd. Brian Sands and 3rd.
