Police at Ballina have charged a 20-year-old man over a number of alleged child sex offences following a four-month investigation.
Officers attached to Richmond Local Area Command established Strike Force Boccaccio in May this year to investigate alleged historical sexual assault matters.
The operation investigated a number of incidents alleged to have occurred between October 2012 and March 2013.
About 10.15am on Monday, police arrested a 20-year-old man at Ballina Police Station.
He has been charged with aggravated indecent assault of a person under 16 years of age, aggravated sexual assault of a person under the age of 16 (two counts), and sexual assault without consent.
He was refused bail and appeared before Ballina Local Court yesterday (3 September) and is due to reappear before Lismore Local Court on Monday 9 September.
