Two people are in critical condition in Lismore Base Hospital after separate accidents near Kyogle and Casino at the weekend.

A woman suffered severe leg, chest and head injuries after the motorcycle she was riding crashed with a vehicle near Kyogle on Saturday afternoon.

The woman was treated on the scene by local paramedics before being transported by ambulance to the Kyogle helipad where the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter paramedic and doctor stabilised her before she was flown to Lismore Base Hospital.

The collision occurred along Homeleigh Road, Homeleigh.

Yesterday afternoon, the rescue helicopter attended a single-vehicle accident 5km south of Casino on the Summerland Way where a vehicle had left the roadway and rolled several times before coming to rest in a roadside paddock.

The female driver received minor injuries and was treated and transported by NSW Ambulance paramedics to Casino District Hospital.

However, the male front-seat passenger was trapped in the vehicle for an hour before being released by the Casino District VRA squad.

He was stabilised at the scene by the helicopter medical team before being flown to Lismore Base Hospital in a critical condition with head and internal injuries.
