CrossFit Byron Bay are celebrating their first anniversary with the news that owners/coaches Nick and Joe Draxl have both been asked to coach athletes during the Sochi Winter Olympics in early 2014.
Nick as athlete performance manager for Atomic, the world’s number-one ski company, and Joe as part of the Australian National Alpine Ski Team coaching contingency.
Both Nick and Joe represented Australia as professional skiers, and went on to coach the New Zealand and Australian national ski teams respectively.
‘We’re advocates of actively contributing to the local community,’ says Nick. ‘We have hosted charity events ourselves, donated to numerous local fundraising efforts, and we’ve had the privilege of offering CrossFit as a sport elective for Byron High.’
CrossFit are inviting everyone to help them celebrate their birthday and the good news this weekend with free classes from 8am and kids’ activities including face painting, games and a piñata at 102–104 Centennial Circuit, Byron Bay.
