Police formally release name and re-issue appeal for assistance following suspicious death of child – Watanobbi

Family members have granted permission for police to formally issue the name and image of a young child who died after being found with serious injuries at a home in Watanobbi on the stateís Central Coast.

Shortly before 4am on Saturday (27 August 2011), two-year-old Tanilla Warrick-Deaves was located with a number of injuries at a house in Stonehaven Avenue. The toddler was taken to Wyong Hospital and pronounced deceased a short time later.

A crime scene was established at the Watanobbi address and Strike Force Maynard, comprising detectives from both the Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command and State Crime Commandís Homicide Squad, was formed to investigate the circumstances surrounding the childís death.

A 27-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man were interviewed at The Entrance Police Station on Saturday and allowed to leave.

Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command Crime Manager, Detective Inspector David Waddell, has reappealed to members of the public for assistance with the investigation.
